Food contributions and uncertainty

Values are available for 13 of 13 recorded foods. 1 contribution(s) use an incomplete recipe or comparator. Product identity and portion assumptions still limit accuracy.

The saved portion/recipe scenarios span 15–17 mg. This is a sensitivity range, not a confidence interval; uncertain food composition and unreported foods can fall outside it.

Role and intake references

Pantothenic acid, or B5, is used in coenzyme A and many metabolic reactions. The adult AI is 5 mg daily; there is no RDA because the evidence was insufficient to establish an average requirement. No UL has been established, although very large supplemental doses can cause gastrointestinal effects. NIH pantothenic acid.

What the food record establishes

Attention: No change indicated. The available estimate is approximately 15.9 mg, led by yogurt 5.8 mg, chicken 3.1 mg, avocado 2.1 mg and bananas 1.6 mg. These B5 values use generic composition; the whole yogurt tub was confirmed and the chicken's edible weight is estimated. The pattern supports plausible coverage, without establishing body status or precisely measuring daily intake.

An AI is an adequacy planning reference. Being above it is useful evidence in a usual diet assessment; being below it on a future day would not by itself prove inadequacy. The same distinction should remain visible even when the numerical total looks comfortable.

Mushrooms are another B5-containing food, but I do not need to buy them solely to raise a total that already looks covered. They are worth trying for taste and variety if cooking and storage are practical. NIH food table.

Pantethine supplement studies and ordinary pantothenic acid are not interchangeable. NIH distinguishes research on large pantethine doses and lipid measurements from B5 itself. This edition has not reviewed the underlying pantethine trials in detail, so it makes no treatment claim from them. NIH research discussion.

The useful default for the current routine is to keep ordinary foods I enjoy. A coenzyme's involvement in metabolism does not make a large B5 dose a demonstrated training or recovery aid. There is no logged B5 supplement to add to this estimate.
