Sleep investigations
The project begins by deciding what is worth optimizing. These investigations connect outcomes, mechanisms, measurement validity and practical interventions. Each asks what the evidence actually establishes and what would make the next decision better.
- Why sleep matters for performance
The human experiments behind attention, learning, recovery and metabolic health, and what they justify optimizing.
- Measurement and validation
How close are these signals to the processes we intend to optimize, and which reference would resolve the uncertainty?
- Strategies for improving sleep
A ranked investigation of sleep opportunity, timing, light, stimulants, training and environment, with the limits of the evidence retained.
- Learning from personal experiments
How a sleep improvement becomes a repeatable result: baselines, targets, controlled comparisons, functional outcomes and honest uncertainty.
- Beyond the wearable
What additional measurements and emerging interventions could establish, from circadian phase and EEG to internal biomarkers and experimental substances.
- Brain clearance and slow waves
What human imaging, tracer studies and emerging devices establish about sleep-related brain-fluid transport.
Reading the evidence
A randomized restriction experiment, a cohort association, an animal mechanism and a manufacturer's grading rule carry different implications. Study population, comparison, duration, endpoint, uncertainty and commercial interests stay beside the claim. The absence of a precise target does not make a topic unimportant; it tells us which question remains open.
Research can refine the targets. The sleep record preserves what happened before that interpretation changed.
